Accommodation at The University of Manchester and the Ibis Hotel
Checking into the Student Accommodation
If you have booked accommodation in either the Wright Robinson Hall (standard accommodation) or the Lambert Hall (En-Suite accommodation) you will need to pick up the key to your room at the reception in Chandos Hall.
The reception should be open 24hours, but I would be grateful if you could let us know as soon as possible if you are arriving outside office hours, just in case we need to make alternative arrangements.
The addresses is Chandos Hall (key collection), Granby Row, Manchester, M1 3QJ, Tel: 0161 306 3131 (No 5 on the campus map).
All the three halls are very close to each other and not far from Picadilly train station.
Breakfast for Wright Robinson and Lambert Halls will be served between 7.30 and 9.00 in the refectory in the Barnes Wallis (No 9 on the campus map next to Wright Robinson Hall).
Wright Robinson Hall
The Wright Robison Hall is situated on the North campus of the University of Manchester, close to the city centre, Manchester Picadilly Train station and the South campus around Oxford Road.
The full address is Wright Robinson Hall, Altrincham Street, Manchester, M1 7JA. It is building number 9 on the campus map.
The South campus on Oxford Road and the conference venue are easily reached on foot (about 15 minutes) or by the Oxford Road Link Services (bus 147) from the Sackville street stop or the Manchester Picadilly Station stop.
The standard students accommodation is in spacious well equipped single study bedrooms, each with a washbasin, ample wardrobe space, telephone and Ethernet connection. The halls also have a main common room and a launderette. Each of the eleven residential floors contain fifteen rooms, bathroom facilities and a spacious fully equipped kitchen/common room, with microwave, cooker, fridge freezer and TV.
A nno-smoking policy operates in all public areas.
Lambert Hall
The Lambert Hall is situated on the North campus of the University of Manchester, close to the city centre, Manchester Picadilly Train station and the South campus around Oxford Road.
The full address is Lambert & Fairfield Hall, Granby Road, Manchester, M60 7LH. It is building number 2 on the campus map.
The South campus on Oxford Road and the conference venue are easily reached on foot (about 15 minutes) or by the Oxford Road Link Services (bus 147) from the Sackville street stop or the Manchester Picadilly Station stop.
Accommodation is in single en-suite study bedrooms within self contained flats each housing between 4-11 delegates. it you would like to share a flat with some colleagues please contact the conference administration. Each flat has its own shared lounge/kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dining and occasional furniture and TV.
A no smoking policy operates in all public areas.
Ibis Hotel
The conference administration has secured a special price for B&B in the Ibis hotel at £60 per room per night. The Ibis Hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the centre of Manchester and the University Campus on Oxford Road, and a few metres from the Palace Theatre and the opera house, the Ibis Hotel Manchester is also 15 km from the airport. Close to the Chinatown area, an array of dining choices and numerous pubs are nearby the hotel. Book one of the 126 rooms in our limited mobility accessible hotel and benefit from use of our amenities, a restaurant, themed bar offering snacks 24hrs and WiFi Internet access.
There is a 24-hour check in service at the IBIS.
