    This event will explore how the sporting legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Gamesmight transform the East End of London. It will draw on the economic lessons of previous urbansporting regeneration initiatives and explore London-wide ambitions for sporting participation.

    Organised on behalf of the Olympic Park Legacy Company by Dr Gillian Evans (Centre for Researchon Socio-Cultural Change, University of Manchester) in association with the 2012 Office at UEL,the event will explore the potential of the 2012 Games to set a new standard in delivering long-termbenefits from a sporting event.
