Our interests and concerns are ambitious, so we work with many different partners - and different kinds of partners. These include other research centres and social science and humanities departments with related interests, both within and beyond our two institutions . We have links with academics from more than twenty countries, regularly involve scholars from across the world in our workshops and conferences
We have also conducted consultancies or undertaken collaborations with a range of non-academic organisations including:
- the Department of Culture, Media and Sport;
- Arts Council England
- the British Film Institute;
- the Office of National Statistics;
- the BBC;
- KPMG;
- the Equality and Human Rights Commission;
- ARUP;
- the Olympic Park Legacy Company.
We are always keen to explore the possibility of further collaborations
We also work as partners with the ESRC in seeking to meet its strategic concerns. In recent years we have been especially important in supporting the development of capacity in research methods. We pull together strengths in both quantitative methods (including longitudinal survey analysis) and qualitative research (in ethnography, in-depth interviewing, and visual analysis). We have particular interests in developing methods for addressing the challenge of digital data, in finding ways of effectively linking different research methods, and in exploring the significance of visual methods.
