Dieter Vandebroeck
I studied sociology at the Free University of Brussels and the Free University of Berlin. As a doctoral fellow of the Belgian Science Council (FWO), I am currently conducting a study on the manner in which relationships of domination and exclusion, particularly those rooted in the dynamics of class, affect the manner in which social agents use, perceive and evaluate their bodies. This study reflects my broader research interests in issues of symbolic power and the uses of culture in the legitimation of class relationships, as well as field-theoretical approaches to the quantitative study of social practice.
