Research interests
My research has two main strands, the first focusing on the formation of heterosexual masculinities, in particular in the context of the school; the second, on ‘psycho-societal’ and psychoanalytically-informed approaches to cultural identity. In the context of CRESC, I am a working on an archival-based project entitled ‘Configurations of adolescent heterosexual masculinity in the immediate post-war period’. This aims to explore the putative consolidation of heterosexual masculinity as a lived identity during the post-war years and, thereby, to contribute to our understanding of continuity and change in 20th century sexual mores and identities.
