This paper builds upon the analysis provided in an earlier CRESC Working Paper (No. 80) on public sector pensions. It provides a critique of the reports of the Independent Commission on Public Sector Pensions chaired by Lord Hutton. Our argument is that while the Commission recommends structural changes to public sector pensions it does not make a convincing case for such changes.20115100
